the last few weeks....

So here is some catching up:
Christmas was great but busy (as always). We had a wonderful time with family. Ace was spoiled rotten by family and Santa. He loves all of his new toys and his "ball game shirts" as he likes to call them. I was looking forward to being home yesterday and getting some things done around the house to recover from the holiday. I thought surely that Mr. Man would play with all of his new things well....that nice thought went right down the toilet with the rest of the day. I love being home with him and my life is pretty awesome but lets just be honest here. Some days start off with great plans that by 1 hour into that day have been completely flushed! I know that I have this need to get everything done seeing how I have 5 weeks till my due date. So of course I had to shed a few tears over the crappy day. But the day ended well. We went to the Thunder game as a family then Jacob stopped and got me a coke float on the way home. The Thunder lost but these two continued to play some bball after we got home and they were just too cute...(don't be fooled that basketball goal is not Ace's...it's Jacob's) Here are my Thunder player wannabes...

For those of you who like baby news, Allison seems to be doing great! So great that I have measured 2 weeks ahead of schedule for the past 2 appts. So last week at 34 weeks I measured 36 weeks. Now I'm not so sure how little she is going to be. We have an ultrasound scheduled next week to check her size. So that could be adding to my feelings of wanting to get things done because we may not have 5 weeks left till she comes if she is getting too big we may be seeing her sooner.

It's December!

WOW! Where has the year gone. In spite of all the sickness here at the Eck house we managed to get our Christmas tree and a few decorations up. Ace loves the tree and as soon as he gets up in the morning insist on me turning the lights on. He also loves to take the decorations off the tree. At times it's a bit irritating but I told Jacob that come January we will be thrilled that the decorations are coming off without us having to do it. Besides I really feel like all of this stuff is for him and if he is enjoying it by taking things off and moving them around, then he can have at it! So if you come to the Eck house be prepared to see a very imperfect tree with a happy little boy walking around it. You may look at the tree but I'll be watching the little man that is smiling and placing ornaments all over my house! Here are a few pictures of our decorating....
And on the Baby note of things...I do NOT like to take pregnant pictures so for those of you who want to see what I look like at 32 weeks pregnant...enjoy. I look like a barn!

Seeing something in a different way...

So for those of you who live around here most of you probably love the trains as much as I do. I always get so annoyed having to stop and wait for them. Plus, for those of you who don't know, I have always hated...i mean hated trains. I hate the sound and the rumbling feeling when your close...I hate everything about them. Here lately I'm having a different opinion about them. You see...I have a two year old little boy who LOVES trains! And today when we had to stop for a train I turned to watch him and his eyes lit up and he kept saying choo choo over and over. For the first time ever I enjoyed sitting and waiting on a train! What is something that you dislike or even hate that you might could find joy in???

Thankful

So with Thanksgiving coming next week I thought I should probably do my thankful post! Where to begin???? I'll just give you a list:
1. Thankful for a wonderful God who blesses my life daily.
2. Thankful for Ace. For all the times he makes me smile, laugh, and want to pull my hair out!
3. Thankful for Jacob. He is a wonderful dad, husband, and friend. Still glad he asked me to marry him!
4. My family. I have wonderful parents, grandparents, sister, in-laws, sibling-in-laws, aunts, uncles....I could go on about these people for ever. They are always there when you need them and when you don't.
5. My Friends! I love all of our friends that we go to church with (Becca even though you are in Korea you still count). I love my girls that helped me survive college (you know who you are).
6. Thankful for the church and our church family.
7. I am thankful for our home, cars, and all of the silly material things that we think we have to have.
8. I am thankful to be a stay at home mommy! And refer to number 3...the awesome man that works so hard that I can stay home.
9. I am thankful for the little girl we are expecting in January.
10. I am thankful for the ups and downs in life, and the trials that help us enjoy the victories.
I hope that you all have a wonderful Thanksgiving! We are planning on doing what we love...spending time with family!

And now for a picture...just because...and hopefully it will make you smile like it does me!..Because who really needs pants when you have cowboy boots! :)

Tomorrow = Special Day

I have tried to fix this post so the text goes with the correct picture but for some reason today blogger keeps mixing it all up...grrr..

Tomorrow is a very special day for 2 different reasons. First of all tomorrow is Veterans Day. My grandfather Alex fought in WWII. I am so thankful and proud of him and all the men and women that have served our country. Here is a couple of pictures of him.

Reason #2 for tomorrow being a special day is.... a couple that I know is celebrating 61 years of marriage! They are a wonderful example of a christian marriage! And I have to brag a little...I get to call them Granny and Grandad. So a very happy anniversary to these two...

As you can see from this picture of their anniversary last year...they have not changed one bit! :) Still in love.....

Baby Eck...

I haven't updated about baby Eck that is due in January in a while so here is the news. I had a Dr. appt yesterday and one today. Yesterday went great I did not realize how close to the end this pregnancy was coming until they said...."we will now be seeing you every two weeks"....oh my that went fast! Then today we had a special ultrasound because at my 20 week ultrasound my placenta was too low. Now I am 28 weeks and we received good news that it had moved up and everything looked great! Baby Eck still looks like a girl and approximately weighs 2.5 lbs. She is balled up and seems to like to keep her hands and feet right next to her face! We finally at the end got one really good look at her face and she looks like ACE did in his 3D ultrasound! I can't wait to see her and see if they really do look alike. And as much as I want to see her I know she needs to wait a little longer to come.
It has been a wonderful and crazy year. We lost one baby and are now expecting another. This in someways is a hard month because this would have been the month that the baby we lost was due. But days like today make me happy and thrilled that we are able to have children and as far as we can tell from the ultrasound it looks like a healthy baby! God is so good to us. We are blessed beyond measure. So today I hope you are feeling as blessed by God as we are!!!

Hopefully I can scan ultrasound pics and post them sometime soon!

The weekend....

So Jacob may get mad at me but it will be worth it for you to hear this story! Let's just say he always makes me laugh and this time is no different. Well....here is the deal. We kept getting mice in our house and could not figure out how they were getting in! Well thanks to our dog Zeus who was going crazy by the back door we finally figured out how they were getting in and fixed the problem. We had a small hole between the foundation and the brick by our back door. Moving on.... So we had set several traps plus put down one sticky trap thing. Zeus stuck his head in the bottom of the pantry where the sticky trap and the real trap were. Jacob saw him do this and ran over to grab him so he didn't get hurt. Too late....he didn't get hurt but as Jacob grabbed him he kinda accidentally pushed his head down and the sticky trap stuck to his Zeus' face! Jacob said Zeus was going crazy so he grabbed the sticky trap to pull it off his face...well amazingly it came off no problem. Then Jacob looked at the trap and realized not only did Zeus get stuck to the trap but so did a little mouse and he was still there! So long story short you can catch a dog and a mouse on one sticky trap!

Now for the weekend... It was great! My mom came up Thursday and we have been running around like crazy women trying to get some stuff done that we need to before the holidays. Dad came up on Saturday to watch the game and then went to church with us on Sunday. Mom is still here. She is staying here for a bit to watch ACE because I have doctor appointments the next two days and one of them I can't take ACE with me. It is so nice to have her here and we are having a blast! I hope that all of you had a wonderful weekend too...despite the terrible OU game! :)

Do you ever sit down to blog and have no idea what you should really blog about? Well that's how I feel this morning..so...therefore there is no title to this blog! Let's just see where this post takes us... hmmmm what is on my mind???
I had a wonderful date last night with my hubby. It consisted of good pizza, a movie, and me in my pj's. I must say that is probably one of my favorite kind of dates. It makes me realize how thankful I am to be married to my favorite person and that I don't have to try to impress him because he loves me exactly the way I am and thinks I'm pretty even if I'm 26 weeks pregnant and all I want to wear is fat pants. Thanks for the wonderful date dear....love you.
hmmm...what else is on my mind this morning...
I am missing my baby this morning. Although from the sound of it when I called my mom he is NOT miss his mommy. He did not even want to talk to me this morning. He is too busy being spoiled rotten by his Nana, Poppy, and Great grandparents. I'm sure we will have to have grandparent detox when he gets home. That's okay he loves going and even though I miss him like crazy it is nice to have some time to myself to get things done.
hmmm....well...I guess the last thing I'll blog about is the upcoming Holidays. As we all know I am very excited about them. I could actually careless about the food and present part. I really love the family time. And since you might not know all of our awesome family I'll introduce you to a few more of them...
Meet Jacob's Siblings
Dani and David

I am so thankful for these two. I feel like I truly have 2 more siblings myself. I love that I can talk to Dani about anything and be as blunt as I want to be about it! I miss her like crazy now that she is so far away and so busy with pharmacy school. I am also thankful for David. He is always so willing to help us out. I am glad he lives close. He was a life saver the day the man fell through our ceiling. He is always so kind and easy going. Austin loves them both and gets really excited when he sees them or even just sees a picture of them.
Sorry this post is kind of long...One more Aunt and Uncle of Ace's you need to meet for today and I'll be done...
Meet my Sister and her hubby.
Shanda and JG and cousin Jesse

I love having a sister and I love that we have boys that aren't far apart in age. Just wait sis...one day your going to have to let Jesse spend the night! He's going to beg to come to Aunt Amy's and play with his cousin!
Well....I've rambled enough for this morning....hope you have a wonderful weekend!

Insurance!!! grrr

So let me just say that insurance is one of the most frustrating things! Especially when it changes during the middle of being pregnant! Needless to say with all of the mess we have been dealing with one really awesome thing happened since our insurance changed....let me tell you about it...
So back in July and August Ace started having trouble with his right thumb locking down (aka trigger finger). I took him to his doctor and she referred us to a hand specialist. Well, he said that Ace definitely needed surgery to fix the problem. But since it was the middle of August that we would need to wait till our insurance changed over on September 1st. Well insurance kept dragging their feet on getting all the nessecary paper work to us and the doctor. Well in the mean time Austin's left thumb starting having some problems but his right one seem to be almost completely better. So after some rude phone calls and a little bit of fit throwing on my part we got another appointment scheduled for the same doctor to look at his thumbs again. And yesterday we found out that he does NOT need surgery!!! His right thumb seems to be working fine and his left thumb is "triggering" but not locking! So the doctor said to keep an eye on them and if it got worse to come back but if not he may outgrow the problem! I don't care if insurance dragged its feet or not I think lots of prayer was answered in this situation!!! So to give credit where credit is way over due...THANK YOU LORD FOR ANSWERING OUR PRAYERS!!!

Hello California and Georgia!

So I've been thinking about my silly blog! I often do not blog because I feel like sometimes the things on my mind nobody else would care to read or the people I am thinking about that most people who read this blog might not know soooo..... I've decided to gradually start introducing you to the people in our life! So watch out if your family you will probably at some point be the main point of a post on here! The thing is I love our family. Jacob, Ace, and I are so lucky to have such wonderful family that I wish my friends were able to know some of them too! So I'm starting with our family that lives far away. Why you ask?....Because they have been on my mind! I guess it is because the holidays are quickly approaching and I get really excited about seeing them since we really only get to see them around this time of year! So let me introduce you to.....
Our California Family:
Regina, Chris, Caleb, and Aidan

I always enjoying getting to visit and hang out with Regina and Chris. Plus, I love to see our kiddo's play together. Aidan is only a month older than Austin so the two of them can be double trouble. And it is neat to watch Caleb treat Austin like a second little brother!

Next I would like you to meet Lori and Matt! They are also in California!

I feel like I get to see these two the least! I love getting to hang out with them too but if they would quit moving all over the country they would make getting to see them a bit easier! I think Kathy would agree with me that Alabama, Chicago, Alabama, California just don't cut it guys....one day consider returning to OK. We miss you!!!

And last but certainly not least and probably the one that makes us laugh the most is Uncle Bubba from Georgia also know as Kerry!

It has been almost a year now since we have seen him! We miss him lots and talk about him often at our house! But the good news is only a few short weeks and we get to see him!!! YAY!!!

So this is some of our family. They are pretty awesome people and we look forward to seeing them over the next couple of months! Maybe someday you will have the opportunity to meet them!!!
I hope everyone has a great weekend!

Last weekend....

Last weekend my mom and dad came and stayed with us before they went on their trip to Branson. My sister, brother-in-law, and favorite nephew also came to visit. We enjoyed spending time with everyone and the boys enjoyed playing together. It's so neat to see them interacting more and more. Here are some pictures and video's of the boys last weekend....

On a different note we still have not decided on a name for this little girl that is growing so fast. I can't believe that next month starts the third trimester. It really does go by so much faster when you already have one little one in the house to take care of. Austin is so busy and fun and keeps me on my toes! I am anxious to see how he handles having a little sister.

"He fall down mommy, he fall."

These are the words that keep coming from Austin's mouth as he points to our living room ceiling. Yes! you read that right...we had a man fall through our ceiling. Let me first tell you that the man is fine and he did not actually fall all the way down. He was able to catch himself. We were switching from Cox to AT&T and the AT&T man was running new lines in our attic when he slipped and fell. AT&T is paying for the damage but in the mean time we have a nice hole in our ceiling! Never a dull moment at the Eck house! I'll leave you with some pictures....

If you are not sure how large that hole is it is approximately 4ft long by 3ft wide. And NO it is not a good location for a skylight!

Vacation!!!!

So for the first time ever Jacob and I went on a vacation all by our big selves!!! And I must say it was wonderful. We spent 5 days on this....

Enjoying things like this....

Having fun doing things like this....

Relaxing like this....

Needless to say we had a wonderful time. I am so thankful that we have wonderful parents who were willing to keep Ace so that we could enjoy a vacation. Now if I can convince Jacob that we really didn't go by ourselves and that we still had one baby with us the whole time......maybe I can talk him into another vacation in a year or two! :)
So glad I married this man....

A little of this and a little of that....

I have several things that I need to blog about! So I'll start with today. We had a wonderful first day back at Sonshine School! I have a wonderful group of kiddos. This was probably the most smooth first day of school, sonshine or public school, that I have every had! Austin has two wonderful teachers this year. They are both very good with kids. So yay for a successful first day! After Sonshine School we went for another ultrasound. We have had one that showed a girl and they were checking again today but today little girl did NOT want to move around at all. We still got some good pictures of her and enjoyed seeing her. After we go home this evening Austin and I made cookies together and he ate two! It has been a wonderful day but.....I'm pooped!

On a different note....This is just plain funny and I should have blogged about it the other night when it happened but I didn't get the chance. Jacob and Austin were playing in the living room. And when I say playing, I mean like boys playing and wrestling. Well Jacob tooted really loud which is not unusual around here but normally I give him a dirty look and Austin just ignores him. Not this time. Austin says "uh oh, I pooped". Jacob then says "no Austin that was Daddy". Which Austin replies "daddy pooped"? Then Jacob has to explain that nobody pooped that he just tooted and that everybody still has clean pants. I'm still laughing.

I should write about how hormonal/irritated I've been and tell a few things on myself since I've posted all about Jacob's problem. But I'm in a good mood and I don't think I want to go there tonight!

Lazy Saturday

I love days like today! We have been busy and gone so much on the weekends I honestly can't remember the last time we were all home together on the weekend without much to do. Last night we all laid on the couch together and watched The Land Before Time. Ace loves that movie right now. Jake also got to feel our little girl moving last night while we were on the couch. I've been feeling her move for a couple of weeks now and she was very active last night, maybe she likes The Land Before Time too!!! :) Anyways, it was so nice to just sit together and watch a good movie. This morning we all slept in a bit and then did some errands, came home ate lunch, took naps, and now we are watching some OU football. I know it doesn't sound like much of a weekend but I am loving every minute of our family time that is just the three of us. I have also enjoyed watching Ace and Jake interact. Ace has this new thing that he grabs your finger and starts pulling you somewhere in the house saying "show you". He does it to me all day but it's fun to watch him "show" his dad things. His favorite thing to "show you" are his animal toys in his room. He likes to "show you" the animals and tell you the sound they make. So to the point of this post...we are having a wonderful, relaxing, uneventful weekend and are loving it. We hope you are having a great weekend too!

Labor Day Weekend

If you are like me your weekends never turn out as you plan for them to. For the first time in a while we had nothing going on and I was looking forward to a relaxing weekend with my two favorite boys! However, plans changed and that is okay. That's life. On Saturday morning my mom called. She was at my sisters house and my sister was sick and they were putting my grandad in the hospital. So she stayed with my sister and I and my two favorite boys headed to D-town to check on my grandparents. Jacob and ACE went on to spend the weekend with his parents (thanks again for letting them stay with you guys). I spent the weekend with my grandparents. My grandmother still cannot drive since she shattered her shoulder about 5 weeks ago. So I made many trips from the hospital to their house. When I found out that I was needed there I thought...there goes my relaxing weekend. I feel terrible that I even had that thought. I love my grandparents but I also love my boys. What I thought was going to be a frustrating change of plans turned out to be a wonderful weekend. I got to spend a bunch of quaility time with each of my grandparents individually. I have not had that in a long time. My grandmother who always goes to bed early stayed up late talking to me at night. And my grandad who doesn't always get to say much (since granny is the talker) got to tell me all kinds of stories. I found out so much about him that I never knew! I always knew he had a sense of humor but he was down right hilarious! Even being sick he made the best of it. So even though my plans were changed I am so thankful that God blessed me with such a wonderful opportunity to spend time with two people that I have always admired, loved, and looked up to. I hope you were as blessed by God on your Labor Day as I was!

Where to begin????

I thought I would enjoying blogging but I'm not sure I do. I find it overwhelming. I have been gone so much lately. By the time I'm home and sit down in front of the computer so much has happened I don't even know where to begin. I know so often I say my life is great. It truly is. My husband has not complained once about how much ACE and I have been gone while he has stayed home and worked so that we can go on our adventures. Are adventures will be coming to an end soon. SS is about to start back. Austin and I both love SS. I am looking forward to getting back into a routine. Just when I think our lives might be slowing down it seems like the speed up. Here is a little list of things that are going on most of I am looking forward to but others I am nervous about:
-SS starting back
-J and I go on vacation - excited/nervous about being away from ACE
-Ace has surgery- so nervous about this- he has trigger finger and will be in a splint for two weeks...it will be a long long two weeks.
-Then the Holidays will be hitting - Yay we love family time!
- Then January we are having a baby girl!
Maybe I'll try to blog about some of this along the way!
I hope everyone is having a wonderful summer. We sure are and wish you the same!
Now back to life and getting on with the rest of my day! :)
I'll leave you with a recent pic of my favorite little man:

Great Weekend!

Once again we spent another weekend with family! It was wonderful as always. I cried as we left because I never want to leave when we are down. It is always so relaxing. One of the things I enjoyed most this weekend was spending time with this girl.....

I had no idea when I married Jacob that I was going to have another sister instead of sister-in-law. So Dani...thanks for letting me crawl into bed with you and watch tv on Saturday morning and talk about randomness, thanks for floating with me in the pool, thanks for putting up with playing games with me even though I'm terrible and its 1AM in the morning, and most of all thanks for being you! I am going to miss her like crazy when she goes to Harding this next month! I'm stopping there before the tears come just thinking about it! Love you loads and thanks for being a wonderful sister to me and aunt to ACE!

Monday, July 19, 2010

hmm....

Where should I begin? We have been so busy over the past few weeks I don't even know where to begin! We celebrated Austin's 2nd Birthday over the 4th of July weekend with family. The whole weekend was wonderful. Jacob had a 3 day weekend so we got to spend some extra time in Waurika. I love family time! It's been a while since Dani, David, and Jacob were all home at the same time. We had a blast all hanging out together. They played a lot of Wii and we also played a lot of the Megatouch game (its a game that has a touch screen). We didn't get much swimming in due to lots of rain but we enjoyed being in the house together! Austin as always got plenty of attention. He enjoyed his favorite sleeping spot in Waurika (in the middle of grandmommy and papa frank). He also enjoyed being spoiled rotten by his Aunt Dani and Uncle David. He loves them both so much! Austin's new thing right now is saying the bedtime prayer himself. You can't always understand everything but every once and a while you understand a name and you can always understand the AMEN at the end. Well last night he was for sure praying for his Aunt Dani. It was so plain and so cute!
The other thing we have been up to is we spent about a week in Duncan. My grandmother had a garage sale during the world's largest garage sale and Jacob and I put some stuff in there. So Austin and I went down to price things and help with the sale. We enjoyed spending time with my parents and grandparents! Austin also enjoyed a 2 days with his Grandmommy while we actually had the garage sale going on. (Thanks Val for watching him!) I use to hate garage sales and dreaded the thought of my mom and grandmother having one but this time....we had so much fun together!
Well I really feel like I'm just babbling. I have nothing really important to write about. My life may not be that exciting to many but I think it is pretty great. As I was praying tonight I was thanking God for blessing me so much. I sometimes get so down and frustrated with things then I realize how great I really do have it and how God has done so much for me and my family! I hope that you are able to see all the blessings He has done for you! Think about it......and have you thanked God lately?

The Weekend....

I had a pretty fabulous weekend. And this morning I was thinking that I am so glad I married this man......

He is always making me laugh, he takes care of me when I don't feel good, and he works really hard so I can be a stay at home mom.
My mom came and got Austin on Friday around noon for the weekend. (thanks so much mom and dad for keeping him!) So Friday night Jacob and I enjoyed time with good friends. The boys played video games while Jennifer and I reverted back to our childhood days of laying in bed talking and watching a (terrible) movie! :) Jennifer and I have been friends since we were little and it doesn't matter if Jen and I talk 5 times on the phone each day we never run out of things to talk about.
Then Saturday Jacob and I slept in. It was sooo nice. We were laying in bed Saturday morning and I said donuts sound good. So Jacob took me to get donuts We ate donuts then I crawled back in bed and watched a movie. Perfect Saturday!
Sunday we went to early service then came home and took a nap together. Then after church last night we went out to eat with great friends. I enjoyed visiting with Christa, Tara, and Amanda. Then after Jacob and I got home last night we played some yahtzee (which I won). While we were playing it started storming so we went out and set in our garage with the door opened. We sat there and watched it rain and lighting and just talked. It was perfect.
So like I said I had a fabulous weekend. I got to spend time with my wonderful hubby and great friends. Now it is time for my little man to go home! I miss that sweet little toot!!!

My Baby is Growing Up!

I can't believe ACE is 2 years old today! WOW time flies. We had such a good day together yesterday. I drug him all over town from 11:15 till 2:30 and part of that was taking him to the doctor for his well baby visit. The only time he fussed or complained was while I was holding him down at the Dr. office for her to check his ears. He was so pleasant and sweet yesterday! Then last night his daddy and him hung out while I went to a girls activity with some of my favorite ladies from church (I just love those girls!!!). When I got home his daddy had him in bed and almost asleep but not quite. So I went in and laid down by him and he was so excited to see me. He kept patting me, touching my face, smiling, and saying mommy over and over. I am so glad that I get to stay home with him. He melts my heart and makes me smile on a daily basis. I will admit that there are days I want to rip my hair out but it is so worth it! And to my wonderful hubby....Thank you for working so hard so I get to stay home! So....HAPPY BIRTHDAY ACE! God has blessed our lives with your presence! You keep us on our toes and full of life!

Catching up

I feel like I have so much catching up to do! We had an amazing week at Pettijohn and we have been home for over a week now. Camp is always such an uplifting time. We have so many wonderful friends that we often only see once a year. I really would like to change that. Ace went to camp with us but he only stayed till Wednesday. My mom and grandparents came and got him and as much fun as him and I both had while he was there, I was ready for him to head to my mom's house. His Grandmommy on the other hand was not so thrilled for him to leave. They had such a good time together at camp and he even mananged to sneak his way into her bed for a couple of nights. And for those of you who don't know, the beds we have at pettijohn are smaller than a twin! Camp is a great time but it is good to be home. Jacob and I are so blessed to have such a wonderful congregation here at home that I feel like I miss out on so much while we are gone. The girls in our class at church are amazing christian women. I enjoy seeing them every Sunday and Wednesday night and then all the extra times I get to see them outside of church too! They are always there no matter what you may need.
I guess when I reflect on the people in my life I feel overwhelmingly blessed. I an amazing family and that does include Jacob's side, a wonderful church family, and my pettijohn family! God is so good!

time for a post

I feel like it's been a while since I posted. Not that I have anything really important to say. We have been spending time with family and I have really enjoyed that time. Jacob's parents kept Ace over Memorial Day weekend and Jacob and I cleaned out the garage....ROMANTIC...NOT!!! We did join them for the end of the weekend and had a good time as always.
ACE and I have also been getting to spend a lot of time with my parents and grandparents. He loves getting to play in my grandparents backyard and they enjoy getting to watch him. He also enjoys jumping on and off of my dad. Someday he will realize that poppy is not a trampoline. He also thinks it is really funny to steal Poppy's chair. As soon as he runs in the door at my parents house he starts saying Poppy's chair, Poppy's chair. And of course my dad likes to act like he is really mad that he stole his chair, which Ace thinks is hilarious!

This is totally random but it is for Uncle Bubba. I thought of you today. I was watching Wheel of Fortune (which I never watch which tells you how random this is. Pat said something about now here's a message from Charlie you know the announcer guy that has this good voice and you never see him but he tells you about the prizes. Well, the first thought that came to my head was this guy has a good voice but Uncle Bubba is WAY BETTER! So in other words when Pat gets a hold of one of your CD's or some of your work he will be firing Charlie and hiring YOU! And I'm blogging about this so everyone knows that I SAID SO and that I knew you before you before you were famous on Wheel of Fortune! :)

Anyways...Back to the beginning of this post. I really have nothing too important. Life around here has been pretty good. No complaints.

I hope that life is treating you all well!

Visit with Papa and Frank

We had a great weekend in Duncan. It is always good to spend time with family. As I have mentioned many times we have a wonderful family. Each person plays a special part in our lives that makes this ride we call life so great. Jacob's Papa and his buddy Frank our two really neat men. On Saturday Austin and I rode with Jacob's mom and dad to visit these two! We had such a great time! I'm really not sure who had more fun Austin or Papa and Frank!

I love my hubby!!!

Well if you read my last post you will recall my NEED or maybe I should say want for a vacation. Well I'd like to tell Gina thank you for the offer to come to California...so sweet of you and we will definitely need to make that trip sometime! We'd love to come and see you guys. But after a lot of sweet talking my husband and the fact that he is just really awesome he booked a cruise for us in the Fall! (I'd also like to say thank you to my wonderful mother-in-law AKA the vacation queen for helping us with the planning) I am so excited!!! Jacob and I have never been on a vacation by ourselves. We even went on our honeymoon with his family (which we had a blast)! Am I nervous about leaving ACE for a week....yes and no. Yes, I hate to be so far from him and gone from him so long but no I don't worry about him being take care of. We are so blessed to have wonderful parents who are willing to not only take care of him but spoil him rotten! He will probably have more fun then we do!
Speaking of things I am looking forward to, camp is just around the corner! I can't believe how fast it is coming. I love going to Pettijohn! I love the people, the camp, and most of all the time I get with God. I know we get time with God all the time. But I always feel like that time there really helps me to strengthen my relationship with Him.
I am so blessed to have so many wonderful things happening right now and to look forward to. God is so good and I so often fail to give Him the credit He so more than deserves.

Where is my brain....???

First of all I need to thank my momma for coming up this week and helping me!!! Mothers day is just around the corner and I am so blessed with such a wonderful mom!!! In fact I'm not only blessed with a wonderful mom, I am doubly blessed with a wonderful granny, mother-in-law, and Mimi-in-law! I love all of these women so much and they each add something special to my life. They are all great examples of a mother who should be truly honored on mothers day. There is no gift or card that is good enough for these women!
So back to where is my brain??? This is what I'm talking about I can't keep my mind focused on one thing that I need to be focused on but.....vacation! I think a lot of my problem is what has happened over the past month or so. I am so grateful to have such an amazing, understanding, loving husband and all I want to do is spend some relaxing time with him. I need to clean my house, and get ready for graduation parties, but all I seem to find myself doing is searching the Internet for a relaxing (cheap!!!) vacation.
I need to stop this! Jacob and I are so blessed and we do get so many little vacations (weekends) to ourselves thanks to our wonderful parents who are always willing to keep Ace for the weekend! But a girl can daydream about sand and salt water!

Moving on....

I feel like our lives are getting somewhat back to normal (whatever normal is). In some ways it is nice and in other ways it seems strange. I still feel like a little part of me is gone. I may always feel that way...who knows. I told Jacob yesterday that sometimes I feel like I could move back home and not miss this place (Edmond). Then we have weekends and weeks like we have had recently that make me realize how much I might not miss Edmond, but I would sure miss our friends. Just in case you didn't know we have AMAZING friends! We are blessed by friends that we can call anytime day or night. That we can laugh with and cry with. So to those of you who put up with us and hang out with us and allow us to call you our friends....Thank You!
Moving on....
Today was the first day in over a week that I felt like Austin's Mom again. My mom and my mother-in-law have taken such good care of him for the past week I have barely had to do anything. Today we went to the zoo with Jen and Ethan. We always have such a good time and it is so neat how the boys are starting to interact with each other. Today they even held hands as they walked into the petting part of the zoo. I know one day they will absolutely hate the picture that I took of them holding hands but today Jen and I just could not keep from smiling at the two of them and how cute they were! Today was somewhat of a rough day since Austin didn't really nap and he was sooo grumpy, but even with his grumpy mood it was so good to feel like his Mom again.
I feel like this post is all over the place....I guess it is mainly just what is on my mind tonight. Sorry for the randomness. I really will work on getting better at this!

Life....and thank you

When I started this blog a few weeks ago our life was full of excitement. Austin was up to his usual of keeping me on my toes and laughing and we also were expecting a second baby in November. Our lives were full of excitement and happiness. Well, on Thursday we lost our baby. I really don't want to write about it or talk about it because it still hurts too much so I'm going to leave it at that, but what I really want to write about is how blessed we our with amazing family and friends. First of all I have to tell you about this amazing guy I married. He has be so wonderful through everything the past few days. He has been patient, kind, and understanding. He has let me talk to him about everything and at times nothing at all. He has even given up his side of the bed and missed work just to take care of me. I could go on and on about him and I am so thankful God blessed me with him. Next, I have to tell you about our wonderful families. Our families have been taking care of our precious little boy and helping us in so many ways that I can not even begin to describe. My mom is staying with me and I'm so thankful for her help and my dad's willingness to let her be gone so much. Then there is my in-laws who have also helped take care of Mr. Austin and have stayed with us and helped us and called, emailed, and texted everyday just to see if we need anything. Then there are our friends. I am so thankful to have Gina and Christa who have both been through this to answer my questions. And Christa is only a few weeks out from her experience and yet has check on me and been such a support and I know she is still hurting herself. Then there are our amazing church friends Jen who has texted, called and come by. Katie and Mike calling and sending flowers....I have smelled those flowers so many times today and thought how wonderful God is to give us flowers and friends to send those flowers. I am thankful for our friends who have sent cards and text and phone calls just offering dinner or to keep Austin as we heal during this time. As much as the past few says have been so horrible and depressing as we lost a beautiful baby we have also been reminded at how blessed we are with a perfect little boy, a wonderful family, and amazing friends. So to all of you who have done these things and offered prayers on our behalf I want you to know how much I truly appreciate you, love you, and thank God for you!
Time heals and God gives peace and we are getting through this.
Thank you all so very very much!

Busy

I thought when I quit my full time teaching job to stay at home with Austin my life would be a lot less busy. I thought I'd have time to do all these projects and activities that I wanted to do. I was soooooo wrong! But that's okay. The main thing I wanted was more time with Austin and I have got that! I love teaching Sonshine School two days a week but right now it is very busy. We are getting ready for the end of the year program and making books for our kiddos. Austin is at a fun age right now but also a difficult one. I would love to bring stuff home to work on but he is always right in the middle of everything! My house use to be cleaner, even when I worked full time, but now Austin can make two BIG messes before I can clean up one. I do wish my house was cleaner and that my time was managed better but I don't wish it that much because to be quite honest I love my life right now! I love being home with Austin and I love the friendships I have made at Sonshine School!

On another note I owe my parents a huge thank you! My mom who runs herself ragged helping everyone in our family new that I needed a break this past weekend and as tired as she was her and my dad absolutely insisted on keeping Austin! This gave me the chance to enjoy my sister, brother-in-law, and nephew while they were here, plus I was able to relax a bit and enjoy some time with my hubby! So thanks mom and dad for always knowing just what I need!

Give this a try.....

Well I am not sure how this will work out but I am going to give it a try. I'm not sure how I feel about this blogger thing. I just started and I'm already frustrated trying to set everything up and I have not found a background or layout that I like. I'm sure it will get easier the more I use it. So my first post is complaining...I promise it will get better!
