My Baby Turns 3

I can't believe that Ace is turns 3 today. He has changed our lives in so many wonderful ways. He has brought many smiles, laughs, adventures, hair pulling moments, and most of all a new type of love that Jacob and I could never have understood. He is constantly keeping us on our toes. As active as he is, he can be such a cuddle bug and always knows exactly when to say "I love you mommy" and give me a kiss. He adores his new little sister and has taken on the role of a big brother like a pro. We are so proud of him, thankful for him, and blessed beyond measure to have him in our lives. Ace we want you to know that Mommy, Daddy, and Alli love you very much and we wish you a wonderful birthday!

random

Last week the Eck family went to Pettijohn. Alli stayed one night then headed to my parents for the week. It was just too hot for her. I am sooo thankful they were able to spoil her. Thanks Mom and Dad. Apparently my dad is her new favorite because he can just look at her and she will smile the rest of us have to work to get her to. Camp was great and Ace and I enjoyed our usual cabin 2 with grandmommy. It was nice to spend the week with grandmommy, Jacob, Dani, David, and all of our pettijohn friends. Next year Miss Brittany has to come and Biff too! Then the Eck fam will be complete out there!. I already miss camp friends but I'm enjoying showering without flip flops. Moving on...

We returned from camp and my computer is not working. So no posting pictures for a while. Jacob has been nice enough to let me use his while he is at work.

Uncle Bubba is flying in this week...we are looking forward to seeing him.

Ace turns 3 next week. WHERE HAS THE TIME GONE!

And for now that is it...my random post!

Simple things

I have been finding pure joy in the simple things lately. And I must say that these simple things make my life pretty great!
Like watching this little girl roll over, giggle out loud, & how when i hold her up on my shoulder she opens her mouth and puts it on my cheeks as if she is trying to give me kisses. I enjoy that I get to sit in the rocking chair and feed her every bottle during the day. And as much as I miss sleeping in I enjoy that it's just her and me awake in the house at 4 in the morning and she is her chatty self. I also enjoy that she only stays up for a short time and lets me go back to bed too! :)

I have also been finding joy in watch this little guy spend countless hours running through the sprinkler in his undies. It's amazing that he has tons of toys and his favorite thing to do is run in the sprinkler. I am also enjoying listen to him tell me that he is 2 and on his bithday (yes he says it with no "r") he is going to be thwee (or three). I enjoy how he tells me that big boys wear underwear and not diapes (yes he says diapers with out the "r")

Call me old or plain or blah but I am truly finding joy in the simple things of my life. And just being home with my kids everyday all day is exactly where I NEED to be and I find pure joy in that. I know I need to be with them and there is no place in the world I'd rather be.
What are the simple things that give you pure joy?

Top 10 Reasons You Know you are Married to a Thunder Fan Addict

#10. We have a mini basketball goal on the back of our front door (with a Thunder Logo) that mini Thunder Games are reenacted on!
#9. Even after being at the entire Thunder game in person He hurries home to watch the highlights on TV.
#8. If you heard the conversations at our house you'd think besides Ace and Alli that we had children named Kevin, Russell, Nick, Serge.....
#7. Asking him to sell his tickets or not go to a game is like asking him to cut off his right arm.
#6. He keeps you up yelling at the TV when the Thunder go into a triple overtime and it's midnight.
#5. The majority of shirts on his side of the closet are blue.
#4. His idea of an awesome birthday party even at age 28 would include Rumble the Bison.
#3. His son notices every car you drive by with a Thunder Flag on it and says "Daddy has a flag like that"...."Daddy need 2 flags"
#2. It doesn't matter what awful noise that flag makes when driving in the Oklahoma wind it is NOT coming off the car.
#1. The number 1 reason you know you're married to a true Thunder Fan is it doesn't matter how little vacation time he has left he takes a day and half off of work and talks his Dad (who never takes off of work) into doing the same and buys tickets for Game 2 in Dallas against the Mavs.

Even though sometimes he drives me crazy...I LOVE MY THUNDER HUBBY!

"Classy Moments"

So I was talking to my BFF Jennifer on the phone today and we were laughing about the funny stuff or embarrassing stuff that our kids do to us, in front of us, and most importantly in front of others! I am constantly shooting her a text of what I like to say is how "classy" we are or what "classy" thing my kids did. Well, today we were talking about it and Jenn said if I had a blog it would be hilarious. I said I have a blog and it's not. It's not funny or good. I said I really need to start telling blog land about our "classy" moments. As embarrassing as they are, I KNOW you all have those moment's too. And I KNOW that if you have days like I do you would enjoy reading about someone elses. So here it is....my goal now is to start blogging about our "classy" moments! And to be honest these moments will forever be some of my favorites. They may not seem so at the time but they are truly what makes being a mom so interesting, fun, and wonderful! So thanks to my BFF you get to hear about our "classy" moment from Wednesday!

I have been sick and sleep deprived. Not a good combination! So tired that on Wednesday morning when my child who usually sleeps awesome but must be going through a growth spurt was up for the 3rd night in a row at 2AM spit up all in my hair I wiped it the best I could and crawled right back in bed as soon as she went back to sleep....I KNOW "CLASSY"!!! I slept as late as the kids let me that morning and the rest of the day was a stay at home day...try to stay awake...and SURVIVE! As bad as I wanted a shower it was not working out that day. So when my hubby's friend Dave came by our house that evening to meet up with him to go to the BBall game, I was still in my fat mommy sweat pants, spit up in my hair, my house is a total mess, and my two year old is in his t-shirt and underwear state of being. I KNOW "CLASSY" Well he got here a little early and had to come in for a bit before they could go. We all visited for a bit. And I as they were about to leave...all I could think of was HOW EMBARRASSING this visit had been...SO GLAD IT'S ALMOST OVER! Well just before they left ACE man who is pretty much potty trained climbed up behind me in the chair put his arms around my neck and peed all down my back. THANK YOU ACE for ending that already embarrassing visit on a real "CLASSY" note.
And that folks is how us "classy" folks roll here at the Eck house!

Mothers Day

I feel like there are so much I need to say on this day and about this day. First of all I must start with my mom.
My Mom: She is amazing. She has always put us first. I am so thankful that she is my mom. Mom stayed home with us when we were little and we always had something fun going on. Now that we are big with kids of our own not only does she still take care of us when we need her but she also helps with our kiddos a ton! For all of the big and little things you do mom...THANK YOU! You are truly amazing.

Now I am very blessed with a wonderful mom but there are a few other ladies in my life that I must mention. They are also wonderful examples of good mommas and they are very good to me and my kiddos too! I am thankful for my grandmother, my Mom-in-law, and my hubby's Mimi. They are all wonderful women who along with my mom are great examples of what should be celebrated on Mother's day. Thank you all for everything you do for us and the beautiful Christian examples you are! You are so very loved! Happy Mother's Day to you all!

I hope that I can learn from these women and be even a fraction of the momma's that they are. I have to say thank you to my hubby on this special day too. Thanks for making me a momma to our two beautiful kiddos. I love them both so very much and they have forever changed my life for the better!

HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY!
