She's Here!

Miss Allison is here. She arrived Monday January 24 at 3:54 PM. She weighs 6lbs 8oz and is 20 inches long. We love her so much and are enjoying every minute with her. Ace has done really well transitioning to a big brother and has been tons of fun to watch with her. I will say he has pushed the limits more lately and a few times I wanted to know "who's child he was" but over all it's been pretty easy.
Here are some pics:

update

So I went to the doctor yesterday and unless Alli decides to come before my doctor is inducing me on Monday the 24th. We are really excited and ready to meet her. I do have this little fear that I am planning on meeting her on Monday and we will get to the hospital and they will be really busy and have to push my induction back. Anyways...I have one more Nonstress test on Friday and this will or should be my last appt before she comes. I will be so glad to be done with those. They don't hurt...just boring and take a lot of time. I am glad that they have been having me do them to make sure she is doing okay but I will not be sad to be done going to those appts. So I am going to spend the next few days enjoying Ace man and getting the last bit of stuff done before she comes. :)

The waiting game....

So we are in the waiting game for Miss Allison. I am 38 weeks and who knows when she is going to show up. I tell Jake everyday that I wish the Labor Fairy would visit me. I think he thinks I'm crazy. It's not that I am just tired of being pregnant I am getting tired of going to the Doctor all the time. Once a week to the doctor and twice a week to the hospital for Non stress test is going to get old really fast! So prayers for the labor fairy to visit would be greatly appreciated!

Now on to the daily dealings of my sweet two and a half year old....
For all of those people who keep saying that he has no idea what is about to happen in his world...I DISAGREE! It's like he knows exactly what is about to happen and he is already rebelling and being quite the little toot here lately!
Let me first say that I LOVE the fact that he is trying to be more independent and do things on his own but the things he is trying/wanting to do on his own are NOT the things I am ready to let him take on himself.
for example...
-He wants to walk across the street/through a parking lot by himself NOT holding my hand...NOT GOING TO HAPPEN
-He wants to brush his teeth on his own....NOT GOING TO HAPPEN...those teeth have to last till he is 5
-He wants to put his shoes on himself....wrong feet..which causes blisters for him...NOT GOING TO HAPPEN (bc he won't let you put medicine or band aids on the blisters)
-He wants to reach and get things for himself...in other words he carries his little Tikes chairs around the house climbs on them to dig in and get things that he shouldn't...NOT A GOOD IDEA

Things I wish he would work on...
-Getting rid of the Paci....Melt down city....
-Potty Training....refuses to even try on underwear...only wants to sit on the potty when trying to stall bedtime/nap time.
-Taking a bath...without a total melt down!

Sorry for all the complaining. I'm really not complaining, I laugh to myself as I think about all of this. He is so much fun and so cute about many of these things. It's just not cute when I'm about to pop pregnant, tired, and running behind schedule! But I wouldn't trade one minute of it for anything!
We are having lots of fun these last few days before his little sister arrives!

as Ace would say "My My My..."

I know...my my my...I don't post very often. Nor do I post anything very interesting. Oh well! I am working to enjoy these last few weeks/days with just him and I at home. Allison will be here soon and I know our lives will be changing. I can not believe that tomorrow I will be 37 weeks. Which means she can come anytime and that also means there are only 3 weeks till our actual due date. We have most everything ready for her. Maybe I should at some point pack a bag for the hospital. I'm really not too worried. We have wonderful families that will be around to help. So I'm sorry for the lack of posting, pictures, details, but for now I am going to be enjoying every minute I can with this turkey.....

the last few weeks....

So here is some catching up:
Christmas was great but busy (as always). We had a wonderful time with family. Ace was spoiled rotten by family and Santa. He loves all of his new toys and his "ball game shirts" as he likes to call them. I was looking forward to being home yesterday and getting some things done around the house to recover from the holiday. I thought surely that Mr. Man would play with all of his new things well....that nice thought went right down the toilet with the rest of the day. I love being home with him and my life is pretty awesome but lets just be honest here. Some days start off with great plans that by 1 hour into that day have been completely flushed! I know that I have this need to get everything done seeing how I have 5 weeks till my due date. So of course I had to shed a few tears over the crappy day. But the day ended well. We went to the Thunder game as a family then Jacob stopped and got me a coke float on the way home. The Thunder lost but these two continued to play some bball after we got home and they were just too cute...(don't be fooled that basketball goal is not Ace's...it's Jacob's) Here are my Thunder player wannabes...

For those of you who like baby news, Allison seems to be doing great! So great that I have measured 2 weeks ahead of schedule for the past 2 appts. So last week at 34 weeks I measured 36 weeks. Now I'm not so sure how little she is going to be. We have an ultrasound scheduled next week to check her size. So that could be adding to my feelings of wanting to get things done because we may not have 5 weeks left till she comes if she is getting too big we may be seeing her sooner.

It's December!

WOW! Where has the year gone. In spite of all the sickness here at the Eck house we managed to get our Christmas tree and a few decorations up. Ace loves the tree and as soon as he gets up in the morning insist on me turning the lights on. He also loves to take the decorations off the tree. At times it's a bit irritating but I told Jacob that come January we will be thrilled that the decorations are coming off without us having to do it. Besides I really feel like all of this stuff is for him and if he is enjoying it by taking things off and moving them around, then he can have at it! So if you come to the Eck house be prepared to see a very imperfect tree with a happy little boy walking around it. You may look at the tree but I'll be watching the little man that is smiling and placing ornaments all over my house! Here are a few pictures of our decorating....
And on the Baby note of things...I do NOT like to take pregnant pictures so for those of you who want to see what I look like at 32 weeks pregnant...enjoy. I look like a barn!

Seeing something in a different way...

So for those of you who live around here most of you probably love the trains as much as I do. I always get so annoyed having to stop and wait for them. Plus, for those of you who don't know, I have always hated...i mean hated trains. I hate the sound and the rumbling feeling when your close...I hate everything about them. Here lately I'm having a different opinion about them. You see...I have a two year old little boy who LOVES trains! And today when we had to stop for a train I turned to watch him and his eyes lit up and he kept saying choo choo over and over. For the first time ever I enjoyed sitting and waiting on a train! What is something that you dislike or even hate that you might could find joy in???
