Seeing something in a different way...
So for those of you who live around here most of you probably love the trains as much as I do. I always get so annoyed having to stop and wait for them. Plus, for those of you who don't know, I have always hated...i mean hated trains. I hate the sound and the rumbling feeling when your close...I hate everything about them. Here lately I'm having a different opinion about them. You see...I have a two year old little boy who LOVES trains! And today when we had to stop for a train I turned to watch him and his eyes lit up and he kept saying choo choo over and over. For the first time ever I enjoyed sitting and waiting on a train! What is something that you dislike or even hate that you might could find joy in???

Thankful
So with Thanksgiving coming next week I thought I should probably do my thankful post! Where to begin???? I'll just give you a list:
1. Thankful for a wonderful God who blesses my life daily.
2. Thankful for Ace. For all the times he makes me smile, laugh, and want to pull my hair out!
3. Thankful for Jacob. He is a wonderful dad, husband, and friend. Still glad he asked me to marry him!
4. My family. I have wonderful parents, grandparents, sister, in-laws, sibling-in-laws, aunts, uncles....I could go on about these people for ever. They are always there when you need them and when you don't.
5. My Friends! I love all of our friends that we go to church with (Becca even though you are in Korea you still count). I love my girls that helped me survive college (you know who you are).
6. Thankful for the church and our church family.
7. I am thankful for our home, cars, and all of the silly material things that we think we have to have.
8. I am thankful to be a stay at home mommy! And refer to number 3...the awesome man that works so hard that I can stay home.
9. I am thankful for the little girl we are expecting in January.
10. I am thankful for the ups and downs in life, and the trials that help us enjoy the victories.
I hope that you all have a wonderful Thanksgiving! We are planning on doing what we love...spending time with family!
And now for a picture...just because...and hopefully it will make you smile like it does me!..Because who really needs pants when you have cowboy boots! :)

Tomorrow = Special Day
I have tried to fix this post so the text goes with the correct picture but for some reason today blogger keeps mixing it all up...grrr..
Tomorrow is a very special day for 2 different reasons. First of all tomorrow is Veterans Day. My grandfather Alex fought in WWII. I am so thankful and proud of him and all the men and women that have served our country. Here is a couple of pictures of him.

Reason #2 for tomorrow being a special day is.... a couple that I know is celebrating 61 years of marriage! They are a wonderful example of a christian marriage! And I have to brag a little...I get to call them Granny and Grandad. So a very happy anniversary to these two...

As you can see from this picture of their anniversary last year...they have not changed one bit! :) Still in love.....

Baby Eck...
I haven't updated about baby Eck that is due in January in a while so here is the news. I had a Dr. appt yesterday and one today. Yesterday went great I did not realize how close to the end this pregnancy was coming until they said...."we will now be seeing you every two weeks"....oh my that went fast! Then today we had a special ultrasound because at my 20 week ultrasound my placenta was too low. Now I am 28 weeks and we received good news that it had moved up and everything looked great! Baby Eck still looks like a girl and approximately weighs 2.5 lbs. She is balled up and seems to like to keep her hands and feet right next to her face! We finally at the end got one really good look at her face and she looks like ACE did in his 3D ultrasound! I can't wait to see her and see if they really do look alike. And as much as I want to see her I know she needs to wait a little longer to come.
It has been a wonderful and crazy year. We lost one baby and are now expecting another. This in someways is a hard month because this would have been the month that the baby we lost was due. But days like today make me happy and thrilled that we are able to have children and as far as we can tell from the ultrasound it looks like a healthy baby! God is so good to us. We are blessed beyond measure. So today I hope you are feeling as blessed by God as we are!!!
Hopefully I can scan ultrasound pics and post them sometime soon!

The weekend....
So Jacob may get mad at me but it will be worth it for you to hear this story! Let's just say he always makes me laugh and this time is no different. Well....here is the deal. We kept getting mice in our house and could not figure out how they were getting in! Well thanks to our dog Zeus who was going crazy by the back door we finally figured out how they were getting in and fixed the problem. We had a small hole between the foundation and the brick by our back door. Moving on.... So we had set several traps plus put down one sticky trap thing. Zeus stuck his head in the bottom of the pantry where the sticky trap and the real trap were. Jacob saw him do this and ran over to grab him so he didn't get hurt. Too late....he didn't get hurt but as Jacob grabbed him he kinda accidentally pushed his head down and the sticky trap stuck to his Zeus' face! Jacob said Zeus was going crazy so he grabbed the sticky trap to pull it off his face...well amazingly it came off no problem. Then Jacob looked at the trap and realized not only did Zeus get stuck to the trap but so did a little mouse and he was still there! So long story short you can catch a dog and a mouse on one sticky trap!
Now for the weekend... It was great! My mom came up Thursday and we have been running around like crazy women trying to get some stuff done that we need to before the holidays. Dad came up on Saturday to watch the game and then went to church with us on Sunday. Mom is still here. She is staying here for a bit to watch ACE because I have doctor appointments the next two days and one of them I can't take ACE with me. It is so nice to have her here and we are having a blast! I hope that all of you had a wonderful weekend too...despite the terrible OU game! :)

Do you ever sit down to blog and have no idea what you should really blog about? Well that's how I feel this morning..so...therefore there is no title to this blog! Let's just see where this post takes us... hmmmm what is on my mind???
I had a wonderful date last night with my hubby. It consisted of good pizza, a movie, and me in my pj's. I must say that is probably one of my favorite kind of dates. It makes me realize how thankful I am to be married to my favorite person and that I don't have to try to impress him because he loves me exactly the way I am and thinks I'm pretty even if I'm 26 weeks pregnant and all I want to wear is fat pants. Thanks for the wonderful date dear....love you.
hmmm...what else is on my mind this morning...
I am missing my baby this morning. Although from the sound of it when I called my mom he is NOT miss his mommy. He did not even want to talk to me this morning. He is too busy being spoiled rotten by his Nana, Poppy, and Great grandparents. I'm sure we will have to have grandparent detox when he gets home. That's okay he loves going and even though I miss him like crazy it is nice to have some time to myself to get things done.
hmmm....well...I guess the last thing I'll blog about is the upcoming Holidays. As we all know I am very excited about them. I could actually careless about the food and present part. I really love the family time. And since you might not know all of our awesome family I'll introduce you to a few more of them...
Meet Jacob's Siblings
Dani and David

I am so thankful for these two. I feel like I truly have 2 more siblings myself. I love that I can talk to Dani about anything and be as blunt as I want to be about it! I miss her like crazy now that she is so far away and so busy with pharmacy school. I am also thankful for David. He is always so willing to help us out. I am glad he lives close. He was a life saver the day the man fell through our ceiling. He is always so kind and easy going. Austin loves them both and gets really excited when he sees them or even just sees a picture of them.
Sorry this post is kind of long...One more Aunt and Uncle of Ace's you need to meet for today and I'll be done...
Meet my Sister and her hubby.
Shanda and JG and cousin Jesse

I love having a sister and I love that we have boys that aren't far apart in age. Just wait sis...one day your going to have to let Jesse spend the night! He's going to beg to come to Aunt Amy's and play with his cousin!
Well....I've rambled enough for this morning....hope you have a wonderful weekend!

Insurance!!! grrr
So let me just say that insurance is one of the most frustrating things! Especially when it changes during the middle of being pregnant! Needless to say with all of the mess we have been dealing with one really awesome thing happened since our insurance changed....let me tell you about it...
So back in July and August Ace started having trouble with his right thumb locking down (aka trigger finger). I took him to his doctor and she referred us to a hand specialist. Well, he said that Ace definitely needed surgery to fix the problem. But since it was the middle of August that we would need to wait till our insurance changed over on September 1st. Well insurance kept dragging their feet on getting all the nessecary paper work to us and the doctor. Well in the mean time Austin's left thumb starting having some problems but his right one seem to be almost completely better. So after some rude phone calls and a little bit of fit throwing on my part we got another appointment scheduled for the same doctor to look at his thumbs again. And yesterday we found out that he does NOT need surgery!!! His right thumb seems to be working fine and his left thumb is "triggering" but not locking! So the doctor said to keep an eye on them and if it got worse to come back but if not he may outgrow the problem! I don't care if insurance dragged its feet or not I think lots of prayer was answered in this situation!!! So to give credit where credit is way over due...THANK YOU LORD FOR ANSWERING OUR PRAYERS!!!
