Top 10 Reasons You Know you are Married to a Thunder Fan Addict

#10. We have a mini basketball goal on the back of our front door (with a Thunder Logo) that mini Thunder Games are reenacted on!
#9. Even after being at the entire Thunder game in person He hurries home to watch the highlights on TV.
#8. If you heard the conversations at our house you'd think besides Ace and Alli that we had children named Kevin, Russell, Nick, Serge.....
#7. Asking him to sell his tickets or not go to a game is like asking him to cut off his right arm.
#6. He keeps you up yelling at the TV when the Thunder go into a triple overtime and it's midnight.
#5. The majority of shirts on his side of the closet are blue.
#4. His idea of an awesome birthday party even at age 28 would include Rumble the Bison.
#3. His son notices every car you drive by with a Thunder Flag on it and says "Daddy has a flag like that"...."Daddy need 2 flags"
#2. It doesn't matter what awful noise that flag makes when driving in the Oklahoma wind it is NOT coming off the car.
#1. The number 1 reason you know you're married to a true Thunder Fan is it doesn't matter how little vacation time he has left he takes a day and half off of work and talks his Dad (who never takes off of work) into doing the same and buys tickets for Game 2 in Dallas against the Mavs.

Even though sometimes he drives me crazy...I LOVE MY THUNDER HUBBY!

"Classy Moments"

So I was talking to my BFF Jennifer on the phone today and we were laughing about the funny stuff or embarrassing stuff that our kids do to us, in front of us, and most importantly in front of others! I am constantly shooting her a text of what I like to say is how "classy" we are or what "classy" thing my kids did. Well, today we were talking about it and Jenn said if I had a blog it would be hilarious. I said I have a blog and it's not. It's not funny or good. I said I really need to start telling blog land about our "classy" moments. As embarrassing as they are, I KNOW you all have those moment's too. And I KNOW that if you have days like I do you would enjoy reading about someone elses. So here it is....my goal now is to start blogging about our "classy" moments! And to be honest these moments will forever be some of my favorites. They may not seem so at the time but they are truly what makes being a mom so interesting, fun, and wonderful! So thanks to my BFF you get to hear about our "classy" moment from Wednesday!

I have been sick and sleep deprived. Not a good combination! So tired that on Wednesday morning when my child who usually sleeps awesome but must be going through a growth spurt was up for the 3rd night in a row at 2AM spit up all in my hair I wiped it the best I could and crawled right back in bed as soon as she went back to sleep....I KNOW "CLASSY"!!! I slept as late as the kids let me that morning and the rest of the day was a stay at home day...try to stay awake...and SURVIVE! As bad as I wanted a shower it was not working out that day. So when my hubby's friend Dave came by our house that evening to meet up with him to go to the BBall game, I was still in my fat mommy sweat pants, spit up in my hair, my house is a total mess, and my two year old is in his t-shirt and underwear state of being. I KNOW "CLASSY" Well he got here a little early and had to come in for a bit before they could go. We all visited for a bit. And I as they were about to leave...all I could think of was HOW EMBARRASSING this visit had been...SO GLAD IT'S ALMOST OVER! Well just before they left ACE man who is pretty much potty trained climbed up behind me in the chair put his arms around my neck and peed all down my back. THANK YOU ACE for ending that already embarrassing visit on a real "CLASSY" note.
And that folks is how us "classy" folks roll here at the Eck house!

Mothers Day

I feel like there are so much I need to say on this day and about this day. First of all I must start with my mom.
My Mom: She is amazing. She has always put us first. I am so thankful that she is my mom. Mom stayed home with us when we were little and we always had something fun going on. Now that we are big with kids of our own not only does she still take care of us when we need her but she also helps with our kiddos a ton! For all of the big and little things you do mom...THANK YOU! You are truly amazing.

Now I am very blessed with a wonderful mom but there are a few other ladies in my life that I must mention. They are also wonderful examples of good mommas and they are very good to me and my kiddos too! I am thankful for my grandmother, my Mom-in-law, and my hubby's Mimi. They are all wonderful women who along with my mom are great examples of what should be celebrated on Mother's day. Thank you all for everything you do for us and the beautiful Christian examples you are! You are so very loved! Happy Mother's Day to you all!

I hope that I can learn from these women and be even a fraction of the momma's that they are. I have to say thank you to my hubby on this special day too. Thanks for making me a momma to our two beautiful kiddos. I love them both so very much and they have forever changed my life for the better!

HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY!

My mini-circus...

All I could say at the end of yesterday was WHAT A DAY. And today I think about it and smile and laugh a little. I took Ace to school yesterday and everything went smooth till I went to pick him up early for his ENT appointment. We get to the appointment and there is not a close park anywhere. So I park out in the boonies and lug a 3 month old in her carrier, a diaper bag, and a 34lb 2.5 year old about a half a block. And the whole way Ace is so good to hold my hand but that parking lot was chaos and everyone is more worried about finding a spot and are not watching out for my mini-circus trying to get from the car to the office. We get in the office and Miss Alli who rarely fusses gets very upset and decides that even though she only ate 45 minutes ago she is starving. So I get her bottle out to feed her and Ace says mommy I need to potty. By the time I gather up alli and stuff and walk him out of the office across the hall to the bathroom it is too late. So I clean him up and it was one of those days that I was not messing with dirty little boy undies so those went straight to the trash! I. DID. NOT. CARE. We head back into the office where I get alli situated and eating again and they call us back to the exam room. We get back in there and Ace crawls under my chair while we wait. I'm feeding Alli still and I feel this horrible pain on the back of my calf...the little toot bit me! Lets just say that he hasn't done that in a while and I don't think he will do it again anytime soon. So the doctor comes in and I put fussy Alli back in her carseat and drag Ace out from under the chair. The doctor checks his ears and says if he gets 2 more ear infections that we will be looking at our 3rd set of tubes...lovely. So we gather up all our stuff and make our half of a mile (or block that feels like a mile) walk back to the car. Both kids fall asleep in the car only to wake up when we get home. Come in Ace wets his clean undies on the couch (praise the Lord my cushion covers come off and can go in the washing machine) and Alli wets all over her changing table. So once again WHAT A DAY
But then I wake up this morning in the middle of our king size bed between two kids and my hubby and all I can think about is..Life is good. I don't care how many peoople frown upon kids sleeping in their parent's bed..I have to say that is my absolute favorite way to wake up is our bed full with our two beautiful kiddos.
Then Ace tells me this afternoon..."mommy you a pwincess" Makes days like yesterday really no big deal.

Our Easter Celebration

Our Easter celebration took place over two weekends! The actual Easter weekend we went to Dallas for a camp meeting with Tracy and Neil. I had a blast shopping with Tracy. Ace stayed with Grandmommy We enjoyed church with my in-laws and then ace and alli got their baskets and ace did a little egg hunting.
Our second Easter celebration took place the weekend after Easter. My mom went all out and got Jesse and Ace baskets full of goodies. Plus she filled 40 eggs with fun little things. Alli got clothes and formula for Easter. She is one happy girl...she looks cute and has a full belly! The boys hunted eggs in my grandparents backyard. We use to do that growing up and it was so fun to watch them hunt in the same yard we did. Thanks to my mom the weekend went smooth and was a ton of fun. Shanda came down for the night too it was nice to spend some time catching up and watching our boys play together. Dad was so helpful with Alli. He held her a lot so we could visit and control the chaos with the little boys. Such a fun weekend that we plan on continuing for years to come. Thanks Mom and Dad for planning such a wonderful weekend!

The Kiddos!

I have missed so many updates and things I should have blogged about but maybe i'll catch up eventually. Today both of the kids had well check ups. They are both doing great. Well with the exception of Austin's ears. So here is the scoop:
Allison:
3 months old
10.13 lbs and is in the 17th percentile and is 23 inches long and in the 40th percentile.
She is doing great! Sleeping through the night, holding her head up, and cooing all the time. She is just a small little peanut.
Austin:
2.5 years old
32 lbs 67th percentile and 37 inches tall wich is the 64th percentile. He is very active, independent and assertive! He is working on potty training and doing a great job (so proud of him)! He lost his second set of tubes in January and has had 2 ear infections since then. We go see our ENT in May and his pediatrician said she is leaving it up to him to decide but she guesses he may need a 3rd set of tubes in his ears.
Overall our kids are doing great. I am so thankful that God has blessed us with these two precious little ones. I am also so thankful that I get to stay home with them and enjoy every minute!
A special thanks goes out to Grandmommy today for enduring the doctor visit. Both kids got shots and needless to say there were lots of tears and it was so nice to have a second set of loving arms to help hold my sweet babies who were crying!

Alli Jane

So little Miss Alli is now two months old and we love her so very much. There are so many things that we think she does that is cute and sweet. And Ace, Jake, and I think she is pretty perfect! So here are a few things that make us smile:
-When Alli looks at a bright light or TV her eyes get really wide and open.
-She is very laid back. When she wakes up she will coo and grunt till you pick her up to feed her...but....if you wait too long and she gets really hungry there will be crying with real tears until you put the bottle in her mouth!
-But really overall she is sooo laid back. She tolerates Ace man holding her and picking at her for many hours during a day, all because she knows that he only does that because he loves her.
- She is an awesome sleeper...which mommy loves.
- Our favorite thing is she will work up to sneeze and if she doesn't actually sneeze she lets out this long coo of like relief!
- And when she can't actually get tears out to cry she will stick out her bottom lip and work at it until she can get a cry going to get what she wants!
We LOVE YOU ALLI JANE!
