Thank you Allison!

So if you have or have had small children you know that you keep plastic non-breakable stuff in the bottom cabinets. You also know that if you are OCD and like things organized that at some point you have to let that go! Because if you don't let that go you will constantly spend all of your time cleaning up and re-organizing this:

And you'll miss out on things like this:

And lets be honest...what's really important in life? being organized or enjoying hugs, kisses, smiles, and play time with your kids? So if you come to my house be prepared to step over a few things and possibly have to dig to find what you need! And I have to say thank you to Alli for always leaving me little surprises like the little mess I found in the above pics. She also likes to leave toys and books in the bottom cabinets and drawers in the kitchen...you just never know what your gonna find...I'm off to return Hulk to his owner Ace...I think he has been missing!

Out of the mouth of Ace man...

These days you just never know what is going to come out of the mouth of our oh so adorable 3 year old. Sometimes it is cute and sweet. Sometimes it is funny. And sometimes it is down right embarrassing. And those embarrassing ones are usually the ones that fall into my classy moments category. But this one was just funny. So let me set the scene for you my friends....
Jacob and Ace man are sitting on the love seat playing Wii. I'm sitting on the couch with Alli climbing all over me. I have been telling Jacob that she has been watching Ace jump off the furniture and that she was attempting it herself but I don't think he really believed me, that is....till today! So Alli was standing on the edge of the couch, knees bent, holding my hand, ready to jump. (and this is the conversation)
Me: Jacob! Look at her!!!
J: Oh my goodness...(shaking his head)
Ace: Alli! No no! You are NOT suppose to do that!
J: And neither are you...right?
Ace: yeah! Mommy says not to jump off the couch but I just like to do it really bad.
(Jacob and I are trying not to laugh at this point so I pick up Alli and head to give her a bath)
As I'm leaving the room the next thing out of Ace man's mouth: This is really frustrating!!!
and my thought was BUDDY YOU HAVE NO IDEA!

I've been typing up many of his comments and saving them in a word document. I should share thosebecause some of them are just too funny. Maybe next time.... :)

where to begin...

It has been so long since I have really blogged I have no idea where to begin. So here is a short version of what has happened over the last few months...
In June my grandfather had a stroke and spent several months in and out of the hospital, rehab, and Veteran's Center.
During that time Malia got married and Austin was a ring bearer. Beautiful wedding and beautiful bride!
We put our house on the Market the Tuesday before Labor day. The house sold the following Monday.
Grandad passed away that following Friday early in the morning. (I still miss him and can barely talk about it)
And later that same Friday morning Jacob had his wisdom teeth out.
We moved out of our Edmond house Oct. 15 and in with Jacob's parents till we closed on our new house. We lived with my wonderful in-laws for approximately 2 months and are now living in our new house right down the road from Jacob's grandparents, which is a few blocks from Jacob's parents, and 25 minutes from my parent's and grandmother.
We are loving being close to family and are spending lots of time with them! So needless 2011 was a busy, difficult, hard year but the changes that came with it have also been a blessing.
This week my sweet girl turned 1 year old. She is growing and changing everyday. She is now walking and saying lots of words. I took her to her well check and she weighs a whopping 19 lbs. and is in the 26th percentile. She is in the 56th percentile for height and is doing great!
It's amazing how crazy life can get but God is always good!
Here are a few pictures of the new house. Some of it still looks bare!

Jiggle.....what?

There are lots of things that I should post about that have happened over the past few months. I seriously need to catch up but I don't have time for that at the moments o you get a short story about my kids. If you read my post classy moments this story falls into that. I do not even try to pretend that I have it all together and our days go perfect all the time. We are that family that I'm sure some people would be totally embarrassed to clam as friends or that they know us. But lets be honest we all have our imperfections and embarrassing things and why not share some of the things that make us laugh! So here you go....
Yesterday I was bathing the kids at the same time. Who cares they are 3yrs old and 10 months and right now they love it and laugh and splash and it cuts down on my work load. Well after I got them out Austin wanted to be dressed first which I usually dress Alli first so she doesn't pee on the floor or something. But since he was very adamant about it I went ahead and dressed him first. Well to my surprise Alli did NOT pee on the floor. Instead she decided to go streaking and took off out of our bedroom and down the hall. I wasn't worried just frustrated that I was going to have to go chase her down. As I was in my irritated state I hear a little voice say "Jiggle Butt". Yep that's right my son called his sister a Jiggle Butt as she crawlled bare bottom out the door. My frustration melted and all I could do was laugh. Lets give her a complex before she's old enough to know she might be a little on the chunky side! Then I had to text my mother-in-law and thank her for always teasing ace about being a jiggle butt. I just hope he doesn't say it to some adult and then I really have some explaining to do.

Say Cheese!

Austin loves playing with Jacob's old cell phone that does NOT work. He pretends to take pictures with it. And don't you worry about not getting a copy of the pictures he takes because he'll ...."text 'em to you tomorrow". I'm still waiting for that text to come through! :)

Alli's new thing is this:

And NO she is NOT crawling yet! She just likes to get like this and rock and torture us all with that cute smile like keep watching me...I'll take off when I feel like it!

this and that

This may be a little all over the place but that's how we are here at the Eck house so you can hop in my brian and travel with me or you can wait and take then next train, which who knows when that will be, of me blogging a normal on track blog.
Thanks to my wonderful inlaws for keeping our kids, Jacob and I have done several house projects. We have painted the porch (2 times, still hate it, about to get color #3), painted the front bathroom, painted our master bedroom, torn out the kitchen back splash, re-did the kitchen countertops, and repaired our fence. I wish I had taken more before and after pictures but all I have is of the bathroom:

I'd like to tell you all of these projects went wonderfully but that would be a serious LIE. The original bathroom mirror broke, Jake cut the countertop wrong, and about 2/3's of a bucket of paint was spilt down the wall and onto the carpet in our master bedroom. And just for your information if the paint is somewhat close in color to your carpet dumping loads of water on it and using a powerful vaccum will SAVE your carpet!

Moving on...
We have been spending some time at the VA. We have two special guys that live there that we like to go see. Jacob's Papa and My grandfather are both there now. They enjoy my kids and I think it is good for my kids to be around those two!

Alli had her first trip to the "Big Park" ....As Austin likes to call it. We have a small park in our neighborhood and we take the stroller and walk there often but yesterday we drove to Austin's favorite park. We had a great time but it was HOT.

Oh! and another bit of new info (as I type this statement he is asking for it) Austin is ADDICTED to the IPad!

And my favorite thing of all right now is now my kids are loving each other. They act like best friends. Alli get's all excited to see Ace and babbles to him and pats him. He wakes up and ask for her first thing. He always wants to know where she is and if she starts fussing or crying he says over and over .."it's okay...bubba's right here" I am enjoying this so much but I figure it will end way too soon!

What the girl REALLY wants is...

......Dr. Pepper and Popcorn.
Last night Jacob got home from work and he was holding Alli and drinking a Dr. Pepper. Every time he raised it to his mouth Alli leaned and worked as hard as she could to get her mouth to the can

!

That little girl has such an opinion! Later last night after the Dr. Pepper inciden, I walked into the living room and Jacob was sitting in his chair rocking Alli eating popcorn. Alli has her hand over her mouth and is very content and quiet. I said to Jacob...Did you give her popcorn...in that voice of you better not have. He quickly and confidently responds back to me NO I DID NOT. Well then what does she have in her mouth. Yep you guessed it...Girlfriend snagged her some popcorn when daddy wasn't paying attention! She was going to town gumming that popcorn. Jacob fished it out of her mouth and she got so mad at him. I guess it was gourmet if you only get pureed baby food and formula!
